Hernia Mesh
Group Claim

Hundreds of thousands of people in the UK have suffered from hernia mesh problems.

Did you know that sufferers could receive significant compensation?

Hernia mesh is used to repair hernias by reinforcing the tissues of the abdominal wall.

However, many people have suffered negative side effect such as:

  • Inflammation around the area.
  • Damage to surrounding tissues due to the inflammatory process and scar formation.
  • The coating on the product preventing fluid movement and thereby leading to seromas.
  • Seromas leading to abscesses and infections.
  • Adhesion of the product to other organs and structures, leading to further tissue damage, including bowel obstruction and perforation.

We are taking the manufacturers of one specific mesh, Ethicon Physiomesh Flexible composite, to court. Sufferers who had this type of mesh could receive significant compensation.

Who can claim?

If you believe you’ve had Ethicon Physiomesh Flexible composite hernia mesh fitted and have suffered from any of these complications, then you could be eligible for significant compensation.

If you’re not sure which mesh was used, then please apply and we will investigate on your behalf.

This Ethicon mesh was on the market in the UK between 1999 and 2016. Due to strict time limits we can only consider claims where surgery occurred on or after 2010. We urge you to act without delay.

Note that we can only pursue claims from people in England and WalesEthicon Physiomesh Flexible composite

How much could I be eligible for?

We understand that the side effects of hernia mesh can have a significant impact on the lives of those suffering.

We believe that the manufacturers should compensate you for the pain or loss that has occurred such as:

We are committed to achieving maximum levels of compensation for your claim.

For many of our clients, compensation is more than money: it’s public vindication that the medical community should have listened to you and taken your concerns seriously. It’s a way to hold the Mesh manufacturer to account and save others from being harmed in the future.

We understand that no amount of money can repair bodies, broken families or the loss of loved ones that have resulted from Hernia Mesh complications. In many cases, compensation can pay for aids and adaptations to improve your quality of life and provide you with the care and assistance that you may require.

FAQs

A. Yes, you are eligible to make a claim. In some cases, people who have had one or more surgeries to remove the mesh implant may be eligible for additional compensation due the extensive pain and suffering they endured.

A. The level of compensation you may receive can vary based on a number of factors, including:

• How long you suffered severe side effects of the mesh implant;
• The severity of the side effects you’ve experienced;
• Loss of wages due to inability to work as a result of medical problems related to the device;
• The level of any care and assistance required.

A. Probably not. If mesh manufacturers insist on defending the case all the way to trial, then a handful of Claimants (likely between 5 and 10) will be selected as test cases. Anyway, going to court is nothing to be afraid of– mesh manufacturers are in the wrong!

A. Nothing if you lose.

There are no upfront costs. Eligible clients will be asked to enter into a “no win, no fee” agreement with us. Under the terms of this agreement, you will only be liable to pay our fees and expenses, if the case is successful. .

We are also entitled to a Success Fee which is capped at no more than 25% of General Damages (the value of your pain and suffering) and past losses. Unlike some other firms, we cap our fees at a maximum of 35% of damages (although the actual deduction from your damages may be much lower) and unlike some other firms, we aim to secure the maximum compensation owed to you for your pain and suffering and financial losses.

Q. WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO RECEIVE MY COMPENSATION? A. All of the lawyers in the action are committed to obtaining compensation on your behalf as quickly as possible. As the mesh manufacturers are some of the largest and richest companies in the world, however, it may be necessary to take them to court.
